Zoho for tour operators and travel companies
Bookings, customer advances, hotel and ferry or airline costs, and GST set up so your margin and your tax are both clear.
What we set up
Built around how a tour is sold and paid for
A tour is quoted, part-paid in advance, delivered through hotels and transport you pay for, and then settled. Your books should follow the same path.
- Enquiry pipeline in Bigin from first call to confirmed booking
- Quotes per itinerary, converted to invoices when the customer confirms
- Customer advances recorded against each booking, so nothing is left unmatched
- Hotel, ferry and airline costs paid on the customer's behalf kept in separate clearing accounts
- A Booking ID tag on every invoice, bill and payment, so profit per tour is one report
- GST set up for your state or union territory, and IGST for customers from other states
- Moving from Tally with opening balances and open bookings carried over
How we work
From first call to go-live
Every project follows the same four steps: a discovery call, a demo on your own data, build and migration checked against your old books, then go-live with training and support. See how we work →
Questions
Common questions
Should hotel and ferry costs be in our income?
That depends on whether you act as a pure agent for those costs or sell a package. We set up Zoho Books for either, and your Chartered Accountant confirms the GST treatment.
We are in Andaman and Nicobar. Is GST different?
Union territories use UTGST in place of SGST, so local invoices show CGST and UTGST, and invoices to customers in other states show IGST. Zoho Books handles both once the place of supply is set.
